North Texas Arts Alliance

In 2003 Business Council for the Arts (formerly North Texas Business for Culture and the Arts or NTBCA) organized the North Texas Arts Alliance (NTAA) to help increase visibility for vital programs and projects of North Texas arts & cultural agencies and to encourage synergistic collaborations between the agencies and the cities where they operate.  NTAA emphasizes the importance of combining strengths, aligning assets, creating joint ventures and working toward the common goal of enhancing North Texas’ cultural communities.

The Goal:

To enhance both awareness of and access to the arts and cultural resources that are providing arts programming and developing cultural tourism initiatives in North Texas.

The North Texas Arts Alliance is a network that identifies regional arts and cultural programs and initiatives of pivotal importance to the area. The Alliance encourages collaborations between participating groups and cities by bringing them together and creating an opportunity to network. By working together, they leverage resources to enhance awareness of and access to the arts and cultural communities. Those centers and facilities already participating are:

  • AddisonConference & Arts Council
  • Arts Council of Fort Worth & Tarrant County
  • CharlesW. Eisemann Center (Richardson)
  • City of Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs
  • City of Plano Creative Arts Programs
  • Greater Denton Arts Council
  • Grand PrairieArts Council
  • GranvilleArts Center (Garland)
  • IrvingArts Center
  • LewisvilleArt Center
  • McKinneyArts Council
  • MesquiteArts Center

In addition, the North Texas Arts Alliance Annual Cultural Summits bring city representatives together to share ideas and best practices regarding the resources and actions needed to leverage a regional approach to building art participation.  By bringing North Texas’ cities & cultural agencies together, resources will be optimized and the strategic position of the region as a cultural center will be enhanced, thus another example of how BCA continues to create business/arts partnerships that build world-class communities.
