A:    We are a not-for-profit organization that engages businesses and their professionals with the arts and cultural sector.

Q:   What is the benefit to businesses of doing that?

A:    Many businesses have stated values and believe that giving back to the community, where their money is made and employees live, is important. Business leaders are often community leaders too, and their involvement reflects well on their company.Involvement in arts and culture assists in nurturing leadership and creativity, ultimately helping retain and hire the best employees.Businesses are instrumental in making North Texas a great place to live, work and play—and that includes supporting area art and culture.

Q:    Does Business Council for the Arts raise money for arts organizations?

A:    No, Business Council for the Arts connects businesses with arts and cultural organizations, so that businesses themselves get credit for their gifts of dollars and services.   Business Council for the Arts has developed key programs, such as the Leadership Arts Institute and On My Own Time (among others) that forge meaningful connections from the business community to the arts.

Q:   What kinds of companies belong to Business Council for the Arts?

A:    Our membership includes national companies like American Airlines, ExxonMobil Corporation and Texas Instruments, regional and local companies, and most recently, we’ve added a category for sole proprietors.
